Bush Still Happily Oblivious to Reality

So it has begun: Democrats are already calling Bush a lame duck president though he's barely into his 2nd term. These Washington Post articles are good reading on the real State of the Union. As usual, Bush fails to take any responsibility for the lack of progress on the initiatives he's pushing. Rather than admitting that his plans really aren't in the best interests of most people in the U.S., he instead blames
...partisanship and timidity in Congress for the lack of action on his plans to bring change to the United Nations, restructure Social Security and enact a new energy policy this year.Link to 2nd article here.

The patisanship is wholy his doing. Check this NY Times article regarding the election of Bolton to the UN.
"President Bush criticized Senate Democrats on Tuesday for "stalling" a vote on John R. Bolton's nomination as ambassador to the United Nations, and indicated that he would not grant them access to intelligence documents they have demanded to see before allowing the confirmation to go ahead... 'Now in terms of the requests for the documents, I view that as just another stall tactic," Mr. Bush said, "another way to delay, another way not to allow Bolton to get an up or down vote.'"
If you had nothing to hide, and truly wanted the process to speed up, then grant the Senate what they need to make the vote. Gosh!!
Strangely or ironically, despite his predicaments, there was an article recently posted on yahoo, i need to find it that said, compared to the other big nations, he's in the best position ever, no one's listens to the Italian prime, Chirac got dissed w/the latest EU vote, Gerdhart's (sp)party is loosing ground and someone else, i forgot is not doing too well.....UHm....strange? Not really, the article failed to mention, if bush was running any of those other countries, those citizens would not be frickin' dumb enough to vote his ass back IN...3 and a half year left...oi vey
